Child care
Balancing family and career is not always easy. Birsfelden offers a wide range of childcare options. The commune also supports families in need by awarding childcare vouchers.
Parents are free to choose the childcare facility they wish to use to look after their child. Possibilities here include daycare centres (KITA) which offer half-day or full-day care for pre-school children. Daycare structures and supervised lunches offer school children lunchtime and optional afternoon care. Day families are also another individual care option.

There is also a family meet-up in Birsfelden with an affiliated mother and father advisory centre. The FABEZJA association (family and meeting centre for young and old) strives to bring the residents of Birsfelden closer together. Its services include various leisure and children's activities (e.g. toddlers' or playgroups).
